Now, a month and a candidate change later, the results of the 2024 presidential election are less clear.

In the photo of the assassination attempt trump, he strong his past view. the former president is growing frustrated by the rising poll numbers of his likely opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, according to five people close to the situation who spoke to The Washington Post.

He reportedly told a supporter it felt “unfair” that after he “beat” Joe Biden, he had to run against Harris. “It’s unfair that I beat him and now I have to beat her, too,” Trump told a supporter in a phone call last weekend.

At the GOP nominating convention in Milwaukee last month, staffers and allies talked privately about which jobs few people wanted in the administration. They also predicted the election and discussed spending money in states where Republicans haven’t won in a long time.

“At the convention, it was game over, and the Democrats realized that,” said Richard Porter, Who is a member of the Republican National Committee from Illinois. “It felt like it was too good to be true, and it was. It’s amazing how quickly they coalesced behind another candidate.”

Biden would eventually drop out of the race due to pressure from the public and other Democratic lawmakers. With no real challenge, Harris took his place.

Trump’s campaign has struggled since the RNC. When Senator JD Vance was announced as Trump’s running mate, the press began looking into Vance’s past comments about him.

The Trump campaign is confident he will win in November. His team says, in July they didn’t take the gains for granted or let their guard frustrate them. Trump is still leading or tied in most key states and attracts big crowds, they also have nearly as much money as the Democrats.

“The Trump campaign has never taken anything for granted and we always fight like we’re the underdogs,” said Trump spokesman Steven Cheung. “Especially after the assassination attempt on President Trump before the Convention. We aim to help him win and defeat the liberal Kamala-Walz ticket.”

However, for the first time, Trump’s campaign is struggling with the daily news cycle as Harris gains attention and activity. This has led some close to the campaign to wonder why Trump’s team seems unprepared, especially since they had expected Harris to be the nominee after Biden’s poor debate performance on June 27.
